W.C. (Claude) McAdams
W.C. (Claude) McAdams, retired salesman, died unexpectedy (sic) in his home, 417 South Fourteenth, Friday night. A coronary attack caused death. (6 Sept. 1963)
For 21 years Mr. McAdams was employed by the Illinois Manufacturing company. He retired six years ago. He had lived in Quincy 55 years.
Mr. McAdams was born Feb. 6, 1884, in Marcelline, a son of T. Jasper and Rosalia Hightower McAdams. He was married Nov. 23, 1905, in Quincy to Miss Grace Groves. He was a memeber of the First Christian church, a member of Bodley lodge No. 1, A. F. & A. M., and of United Commercial Travelers, Council 93.
Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Bernbrock of Chevy Chase, Md., and Mrs. William (Mary Agnes) Bailey of Dallas, Tex. He also leaves a grandson, Duncan Mac Bailey of Monterery, Cal. A brother preceded him in death.
Services for W. C. (Claude) Mc-Adams were held Tuesday after-noon at 2 in Daughterty Memorial with the Rev. Bert Sutton officiating. Mrs. James Crawford was organist. Burial was in Franklin cemetery. Pallbearers were How-ard Jones, Andrew C. Schnack, Ted C. Schott, Norbert G. Peters, Law-rence Appenbrink and Dr. Donald K. Rees. Masonic rites were con-ducted by Bodley lodge No. 1, A.F. & A.M., with Roy L. Wyckoff, master; Howard H. Lewis, secretery, and Donald C. Van Hoy, chaplain. (6 Sept. 1963)
