    William Lewis, 83, of 252 Douglas St., Hammond, died today in St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Clarence J. Huber Funeral Home, 722 165th St., Hammond.
    Mr. Lewis was a retired employee of the Metal Thermit Co. of East Chicago. He had been a Hammond resident since 1923 and was a member of the Hammond Company of Jehovah Witnesses.
    He is survived by his widow Blanche, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Spurrs of Miami, Fla.
    Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
