[edit] About William KennedyWilliam Kennedy immigrated to Fairfield County, S.C. from County Antrim, Ireland with his father Alexander Kennedy, his mother and five siblings. He was listed as a Brave Irish patriot who fought against the Tories of South Carolina with Col. Francis Marion during the Revolutionary War. He served as Capt. His will was probated on 19 October 1819 File 21-28 3 Fairfield County, S. C. Samuel Kennedy was listed as a son and ex. Only two Kennedys were listed in the 1790 census (pg 21. of printed census) Fairfield County , S.C. William Kennedy, 1 male over 16, 3 males under 16 and 3 females and Alexander Kennedy, 2 males over 16, 6 males under 16, 7 females and 5 slaves. William was granted 100 acres in the Craven District Feb. 6, 1773. Recorded in Royal Land Grants, Vol. 22, pp 29 and Index to Land Plats, vol. 17 pp 427. The 100 acres on Little River was surveyed Dec. 7, 1771. After Elizabeth died he married Ann Freeman widow of Harris Freeman. References
