Janet STOKES was born 1868 and died 1946. She married 8aug1895 William Morgan JELLETT (19may1857, Dublin-27oct1936). William Morgan Jellett, KC, the “father” of the Irish Bar, died 27oct1936 at Dublin aged 78. He was son of Rev. J. H. Jellett, Provost of Trinity. He was Unionist M. P. for Dublin University from 1919 to 1922. He was survived by his wife Janet, daughter of H. J. Stokes, and 4 daughters (the Times). Janet Stokes was born 26sep1868, married 7aug1895, William Morgan Jellett, KC, son of Rev. John Herbert Jellett, Provost of Trin Coll Dublin, and died 9jan1946, leaving 4 daughters. He died 9mar1938 (incorrect) (Burke's Irish family records). John Hewitt Jellett (1817-1888) was provost of Trinity college from 1881-1888. In 1881 John Hewitt Jellett was awarded a prize by the Royal Society for his various mathematical & physical papers, more especially for his researches in chemical optics, & his invention of the new and delicate analyser by which they were carried out. In 1911 the Jellett family, all except William’s wife born in Dublin, members of Church of Ireland, the parents had 4 children living, lived at a mansion house with 14 rooms, 36 Fitzwilliam Sq., Dublin; William M. (1858), King’s Counsel in practice, BA, married 15 years, Janel M. (1869 India), Mary Harriett (1898), Dorothea Janet (1902), Rosanna (1908), Elizabeth H. (1911), 4 women and 1 man (servants) (census).
