WILLIAM IRELAND, JR. b ca 1779, Rockingham Co., Va.; d ca 1840 -41 (by drowning in
the Maumee River,Ohio, with his son-in-law, James Eddy). He was made guardian of his
sister Mary Jane Ireland. He m in Botetourt Co., Va., 13 June 1805 (bond June 11), to Sarah
Catherine ('Salome") Coon-Koontz , b ca 22 Jan. 1778?, York Co. ,Pa. (dau. of Michae l
& Doratha Coon). She d at Mt. Victory, Hardin Co.,Ohio, 22 Oct. 1875, aged 97 years,
and buried in the old cemetery there. They had:
1) Michael b 20 Sept. 1801 or 1806, in Va., d Wood Co.,O. 2 Mar. 1904; m 1st
Eleanor Richardson, m 2nd Mary Elinhausen. He had 12 children.
2) Martha m to M.W. Obenchain, (Ohio census 1840) later removed to Iowa.

4) Jane Anna b 12 Mar. 1812, Bellefontaine, Logan Co.,O., d in Mt. Victory,
Hardin Co.,O., ca 1900. She m in 1832 in Bellefontaine to Frederick S. Kemper, b in
Va., 18 Feb. 1809, d at Mt. Victory, 0., 9 Feb., 1892 (son of Sanford & Catherine
(Sheets) Kemper).
5) Dorothy b ca 1814, Logan Co.,O.; died about 1840-41 (from grief, over the
drowning of her father and husband, in the Maumee River,O., ca 1840-41 (not in 1840
census). She m in Logan Co.,Ohio, on 1st day of Mar. 1832 (by N.Z. McColloch, J.P.)
to James (license gives Jacob) Eddy, parentage unknown.
