HORIE, WILLIAM JAMES, 81, of Tucson, died April 12, 2008, while attending his Rotary Club meeting. Born April 4, 1927 in Detroit, MI. Mr. Horie was a retired school superintendant, member of the American Association of School Administrators, member of the Marana Rotary Club, was active in local theater, including SALOC and The Red Barn and was a U.S. Army WW II veteran. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancijo Dixon and a sister, Marjorie Rohr. Survived by his loving wife, Vergene; five children, Cynthia Bradshaw of Dublin, OH, Kendra Gilpatrick of Upper Darby, PA, Douglas Horie of Anderson, CA, Wendy Burg of St Joseph, MI, Jennifer McClary of Willow Street, PA; one sister, Barbara Geyer of Willcox, AZ; three brothers, Paul of Detroit, MI, Richard of Westland, MI, David of Daggett, MI; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 915 E. 4th Street. Private interment Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Foundation or the First United Methodist Church Music Scholarship Foundation in memory of William J. Horie.
