!Statement made that William Hollinshead & Thomasin who married John Duer [t] were brother & sister. (This is questioned since the Duer Bible lists John married to Thomasin Thompson.) Film SLC F10747, "Duer, Anderson Families." WILL: 29 May 1808 & proven 12 Dec 1808, recorded in Bucks Co., PA, Will Book No. 8 page 9. Mentions wife = Elizabeth & c=William, dau Jane, dau Esther, son Peter; Executor was John Duer [jt] h/o Jane. Witnesses were Joseph Richardson & William H. Duer [jjt]. From Duer Family, Bucks Co., page 69. MARRIAGE: Sources; NJ Archives, XXII, p197. c=6, baptised & in register of 2nd Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia. OCCUPATION: Gold & Silver Smith. Notices in PA Gazette when living in Philadelphia, 4 Feb 1762 & 5 Jan 1774. Letter from Jean Hollingshead Palmer of Barrow upon Soar, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England, dated 6 Feb 1986 states that 13 pieces of silverware marked WH are on display in the museum of Art, Philadelphia. He made his daughter, Jane Duer, a set of afternoon tea spoons. "Our Ancestors" by Jeannette de la Barre Hollinshead, 1882 is the reference for a chart provided by Clara Duer which shows 12 children born of the marriage of William & Elizabeth Harvey Hollinshead. c=12 (4 died as infants & names were repeated). At age 16/17 went to sea and to Barbados, then studied physic but turned to apprenticeship to William Boudinot of Philadelphia, goldsmith. Lived for a short time in Charleston, NC but returned to Philadelphia. "Commemorative Biographical Record of Northeastern PA of the counties Susquehanna, Wayne, Pike, & Monroe" by J. H.
