From the book "Hesters for the Hesters" by Albert Chesley Hester, 536Hardendorf Ave., N. E., Atlanta 7, Georgia, published December 1962:

"In the Spring of 1818 Buck and his oldest son, Roling, came to Alabama and settled about five miles East of Russellville near Tharp Springs, cleared a few acres of land, made a small corn crop, and in the Fall of the same year returned to North Carolina for the family, traveling by ox cart."
