Copy of dates from bible taken 11th Aug 1931 says "father died at 6pm". A separate list of family deaths adds "show day", which must have hurt him somewhat to have missed show day (the pic above is from a newspaper showing local farmers at the A&P show, Dunedin).

Father James Henderson, blacksmith, mother Amelia Henderson, formerly Miller. Buried Aug 1, 1931 Northern Cemetery, Dn by A C W Standage, Pres. Born Scotland, lived New Zealand 59 yrs. Married Oamaru at age 30 to Helen Sinton Wight, now aged 83. Issue still living M 54 (James), 52 (Walter), 50 (Bill), 47 (Archibald), F 46 (Nellie), 44 (Millie), 38(Lydia).
