From Amanda, his mother: Amanda and Harvey moved to Kentucky, then later to Topeka, Kansas. They had 2 children, a daughter, Rosa, who died at 2 1/2, and a son, William (called Willie). William married, and he and his wife had a son, Ernest Franklin Hedrix, but William deserted them, and his wife left the baby with Amanda and Harvey to raise. After Harvey died in 1903, Amanda and Ernest moved home to live with her mother, Nancy Kinnick Owens. In 1910, Amanda moved to Harlem, Montana, to live with her sister [Jane] and her husband, Tom Hendrickson, and lived with them until she died in 1946 in Kalispell, Montana.
