William H. Hartman, 84, 35 N. East St., died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born on April 2, 1917, in Wabash, to Herman D. and Nettie (Smith) Hartman. He married Ann Eileen Hipskind on Oct. 1, 1938, in Wabash. She died on May 20, 1994.

A lifelong Wabash resident, he was employed at General Tire for 38 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are one brother, Ernest E. Hartman, Troy, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Douglas (Tamara) Rensberger, Wabash; four grandsons, Troy (Tina) Hartman, Roann, Clint (Amy) Hartman, Wesley Hartman and Adam Rensberger, all of Wabash; and three great-grandsons. A son, David W. Hartman; one brother and a sister are deceased.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Rev. Sextus Don will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the McDonald Funeral Home Eddingfield Chapel, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to St. Bernard Catholic Church or the Wabash Miami Home Healthcare and Hospice.
