William HAMILTON (1681-1749). Sir William Hamilton, 4th Bart, was b. 6mar1681, son of Sir Robert Hamilton of Airdrie, 3rd Bart; d. 25may1749. William marr 4jun1713 Margaret BOGLE (d. 2apr1773), dau of John Bogle, portioner of Sandyhills (Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae). Rev. William Hamilton was minister of Bothwell. James Balfour of Pilrig married Louisa Hamilton (b. 1686, daughter of Robert Hamilton, 3rd Bart) (“Balfours of Pilrig”).
