This Indenture made and entered into this twenty eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty four between Richard Greenwood & Katy his wife of Bedford County & state of Virginia of the one part and William Greenwood of Franklin County and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth: that the said Richard Greenwood & Katy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars to them in hand paid by the said William Greenwood at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Richard Greenwood and Katy his wife doth hereby acknowledge they the said Richard Greenwood & Katy his wife have given, granted, bargained, sold and confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant bargain and sell to the said William Greenwood his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, their entire right, title and interest in and to the whole of the lands of which Samuel Greenwood decd possessed lying part in Bedford County and part in Franklin County it being the part of which Richard Greenwood is entitled as one of the legatees of Samuel Greenwood Decd. To have and to hold to the said William Greenwood his heirs, executors and administrators, the hereby granted or intended to be hereby granted parcel of land, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Greenwood his heirs, executors, and administrators and the said Richard Greenwood & Katy his wife doth covenant & agree with the said William Greenwood his heirs, executors, and administrators forever, in manner & form following that is to say that the said Richard Greenwood & Katy his wife their heirs, executors, and administrators the aforesaid parcel of land to the said William Greenwood his heirs, executors administrators and assigns, against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever shall and will forever defend by these presents. This Indenture made this 28th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between Abraham Greenwood of the County of Montgomery and State of Virginia of the one part and William Greenwood of the County of Franklin and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of, one hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said William Greenwood, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold and by these Presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said William Greenwood and his heirs forever. All his right, title, and interest in and to his portion of the land whereof his father Samuel Greenwood deceased and possessed of lying a part in the County of Bedford and a part in the County of Franklin. To have and to hold this said land is lands and premises with all and singular its' appurtenances to him the said William Greenwood and his Heirs forever and the said Abraham Greenwood doth for himself his heirs assigns executors and administrators covenant and agree that he shall and with warrant and forever defend the right and title of the said land and promised against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever to him the said William Greenwood his heirs assigns executors and administrators.
