William F. Greene, 89, of 149 Center St., Slatington, died Monday in the Mahoning Valley Convalescent Home, Lehighton R.1. He was the husband of the late Frances I. (Lauchner) Brady Greene and the late Pauline F. (Dilliard) Greene.
He was employed by the New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton, for 47 years before retiring in 1961.
Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late John R. and Sarah Jane (Danner) Greene.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette M., wife of Robert P. Hayes of Palmerton R.2; a stepbrother, Earl B. Schlosser, and a stepsister, Mrs. Eva C. Krum, both of Slatington; two grandchildren and four great-grandchil dren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the George M. Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington. A calling hour will precede the services.
