He is listed as a member of the Bury St. Edmunds Grammar School as 'No. 120, Goodrich, William, son of John Goodrich of Bury St. Edmunds, draper, 7 years under Dickenson; Admitted Caius Coll., April 1634, ae 17; B.A. 1638.' The list of this school begins in 1634, so even if John was also educated there, there is no record. Rev. William Goodrich d.s.p., left his property in Hessett to his brother John's eldest son, Joseph, with remainder to his next son, Jonathan, etc.; to his wife Rebecca an estate in Stow Market and at her death to his brother William Goodrich's eldest son John, remainder to William, his second son, etc.; other property to the heirs of his two brothers. (Manwaring's Hartford Probate. [1:56-59]) The correspondence proving the heirship of Jonathan is included with the account (ibid.).
