    Preston P. Goforth and wife, Emeline Sarratt, now live near Grassy Pond where they have resided since their marriage. He is 77 years of age and she is four years younger. They have six children: William Bostic, Obediah Lafayette, Sarah Adaline, Minerva, Maggie Eliza, Alie Zulieka, Preston P. and Lottie E.

    William Bostic, the eldest, was killed on the battlefield near Dranage, Tennessee, January 17, 1864, and his remains brought home and buried at Obediah Sarratt's Cemetery.
