GIVEN, William Gordon January 18, 1920 - October 16, 2012
Bill suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Helen in 2009. He will be fondly remembered by his 3 children, Barry (Carol), Bob (Janet) and Lynne, his 4 grandchildren, Jason, Tara, Cassandra (Aaron) and Joseph, 2 great- grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah, and other family and friends. Bill was born in Edmonton, and started his Airline Career in 1937 working for Yukon Southern Airlines. He joined the RCAF in 1940, where he met the love of his life, Helen whom he married in 1945. After his military service, Bill rejoined Yukon Southern Airlines, which became CP Air. Bill was a true aviation pioneer and cherished his 45 years with CP Air, where he worked his way up from mechanic to flight engineer to senior Management. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm October 23, 2012 at the Avalon Funeral Home at 13288 108th Ave, Surrey, B.C.
