"WILLIAM FISKE (Robert, Richard, ? Simon , William, Simon), of St. James, South Elmham, co. Suffolk, and of Ditchingham, co. Norfolk, the testator of 25 Nov. 1616 (Will No. 59a), born probably about 1550, died between 25 Nov. 1616 and 17 May 1620 when his will was proved. He married first ANNA AUSTYE, who was buried at St. James 13 Feb. 1600/1, daughter of Walter Austye of Tibbenham, co. Norfolk (Candler Manuscripts); and secondly ALICE -----, described in her husband's will of 25 Nov. 1616 as his "now" wife. According to the Candler Manuscripts William Fiske 'fled with his father in Q. Maries dayes.' In his will he styled himself of Ditchingham, co. Norfolk, bequeathed to the poor of Ditchingham and of Bungay [co. Suffolk], and left to his eldest son, John, lands in St. James, South Elmham and in Metfield, co. Suffolk, the said John paying to his brothers Nathaniel and Eleazar and to his sister Esther sixscore pounds. The testator mentioned also his grandchildren Matthias, John, and Mary Candler, his grandchildren John, Anne, Martha, Nathaniel, and Eleazar Fiske-all under twenty-one, and his daughter Anne Candler. He appointed his son John executor."[1] References
