THE WEBSTER TRIBUNE MINDEN, LA. JULY 16, 1881

UNDER HEADING DIED:

A difficulty occurred last Saturday between Mr. Webb Gamble and Mr. Frank Elkins which resulted in the shooting of the latter,who died from his wounds on Sunday last. The parties were on the road home a fewmiles north east of Minden when the unfortunate difficulty occurred. Theywere brothers in law, Elkins having married Gamble's sister. We have heardseveral versions of the affair, and as no legal examination has been had, we donot feel authorized to give the particulars. The deceased leaves a wife and fivechildren. Both are residents of this parish.
