  • he was a Baptist minister
  • supposedly Sarah left England Nov 16, 1732 aboard the "Anne" with uncle and aunt William and Mary Calvert and brothers William Greenfield, age 19 and Charles Greenfield, age 16. William Elbert came to Savannah from England Jan 1734 as servant to Joseph Wardrope, a carpenter. William received lot 180 in 1736. William and his family left the colony after the Spanish invasion of Georgia in 1742 and went to S.C.
