    QUAY 3 "There passed away at Brechin on Wednesday, January 16, another of the pioneers of the Township of Mara in the person of William Egan. The late Mr. Egan had been in rather poor health for the last few years, suffering from rheumatism and about eight months ago serious complications set in which proved fatal...One son, the Rev. Michael Egan, predeceased him 14 years ago. Mr. Egan leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, formerly Bridget Coyle, a sister of the Rev. P. Coyle, of Holy Family parish, Toronto, and two sisters, mrs. James Bradley and Mrs Hiram Lee, of Toronto and a number of neices and nephews...internment was in St. Andrew's cemetery..."
