    I, William Douglas, was born Aug: 3. 1708 in ye Shire of Galloway, Parish of Penningham, Scotland, [In another handwriting] his mothers name Grishild McKeand.

    Nicholas Hunter, my excellent wife, was born Sep: 1715 in Nithsdale county, Glencairn Parish, Scotland. We were married Nov: 27. 1735.

    We came to Virginia Oct: 6 1750. She was seized wt. a palsy Oct: 19 & died dec: 31. 1781 by 6 of ye clock Monday. She was a Sincere Christian on earth & most certainly is now a glorified Saint in heaven.

    Apr: 2, 1737 — Peggie Douglas was born. [Elsewhere recorded Tuesday Aug. 30 1737.]

    Dec: 31 1760 — Peggy Douglas was married to Nic. Merriwether. He died dec: 19. 72, aged 36.
