William Dewing was born about May, 1796, in Norfolk Co., England; he married there, and had children born there. About 1837 he came to America, with four sons and a daughter, and settled in Canada; after a time he removed to Vermont, and later went permanently to Lancaster, Grant Co., Wis., where he died in April 1882.
