Facts and Events
Inherited his father's grocery business at 44 Broad Street, Aberdeen, Scotland. William's Broad Street shop was only a few doors from the house where young Lord Byron and his mother stayed, so no doubt the young lord spent his maiks in the local shop. He was a co-founder in 1825 of the Glendronach Distillery in Scotland with his Uncle James Allardes of Placemill, J.R. Thain of Drumblair and Robert Stuart of Aucharnie. He was one of the partners who launched what is now a well respected single malt whisky. [edit] External links
