Major-Gen, Sir William Crossman, K.C.M.G. (1884) (C.M.G. 1877) AICE FRSA FRGS MP of Cheswick House and Holy Island, Lord of the Manor of Holy Island, J.P., C.A., Northumberland, MP for Portsmouth 1885-92. Joined the Royal Engineers 19 Dec 1848. Became Lieutenant 17 Feb 1854.
