- Will of William Crawford
- I, William Crawford of ye St. Georges Parish Spotsylvania Co. being sick & weak of body perfect memory praise be to God for the same & ordain this my last will & testament in --. I bequeath my soul to God that gave it in hopes & to have it again at the resurrection of ye last day -- body I give & bequeath to said earth from whence it came to be buried in a decen t manner according to said discretion exor. hereafter named.
- Item I bequeath to my beloved wife one third part of all & one third aforesaid & also to a third part of all household & chattles which ever it hath pleased God to bless me.
- Item I bequeath to my oldest son William & youngest son Barnett 200 acres of land up mouth Elk Run & S. up along said Run to be equally divided between them & dividing lines & remainders.
- Item I give & bequeath to my son Thomas my plantation & land whereon I now dwell.
- Item I give & bequeath to my dau. 50 acres of land more or less situated on Elk Run abount Benjamin Cowards land & adjoyning tracts.
- Item I give & bequeath my goods & chattells & remainder of my estate to be equally divided among my children William, Thomas, Barnett, Anne after my wife has had her thirds equity.
- Item I give & bequeath to my dau. Elizabeth one shilling as she had already received her portion from me.
- Item I hereby constitute & appoint George Eastham to be my exor. to my last will & testament & I do hereby disannull all former wills & legacies so listed soever & land of gift given to my dau. Elizabeth & her husband Benjamin Coward excepted, dated this 16th day of March 1733.
