  2. There is a birth in Boston of William Coomer to John & Elinor Coomer on 28 Nov 1678 (BVR, p. 145). This is 9 years different than the age at death, so doesn't seem a good match. book edited by Helen S. Ullmann, p. 6, says "A William Coomer of Plymouth, Massachusetts, perhaps son of the Boston man [Reverend John Comer]" indicating it is not known if William is from Boston. A son Thomas was also born 6 Sep 1680 to the same parents (ibid, p. 151). In the Record of the second church (Dunkle, p. 46-47, shows the following sequence of events:
    COMER
    Comer, Sister, Adm., Nov. 4, 1683 }
    Comer, William, bp. Nov. 4, 1683 } mother admitted and two sons baptized the same day
    Comer, Thomas, bp. Nov. 4, 1683 }
    Comer, Mary, bp. Dec. 20, 1685
    Comer, Ann, bp. July 1, 1686
    COLMER
    Colmer, Willam, bp. Feb. 17, 1688.
    The last entry is the only thing under the name Colmer of any kind, so if it is presumed to be a variant of Comer, this is in almost absolute agreement with the age at death, indicating the William b. 1678 died and a second son named William was born Jan. 1687/88 (by age at death) and baptized Feb. 1687/88.
