Cocke secured a patent to 256 acres on a branch of Cornelius Run 26 April 1698, and paid quit rents on 1,535 acres in Henrico County in 1704. On 1 March 1708/9 William sold 124 acres on the south side of the Chickahominy Swamp to Theodorick Carter and 130 acres to John Webb. Sarah relinquished her dower right in the land. William was coroner of Henrico County, where he left a will naming several children (will dated 5 Nov. 1717, recorded 3 Feb. 1717/8).
