Vol.23 p.323 29 December 1782 William,son of James Close of Whitaside. IGI 1984 16.265 !Occupation: According to a family tree - became Town Clerk ofRichmond, NSW about 1812. However, the Hawkesbury HistoricalSociety states that there was no such position in the Colony atthat period - so suggest it is more likely to be "of Richmond,YKS" this being close to Grinton.
