DEATH: From the back of a family group sheet kept by my grandmother, Christa Lillis Wilkins: William Furlsbury Carter, Jr. His mother was in bed with the birth of Hannah and had a lady taking care of her. When the lady left in the evening to go to her home, William followed her and got lost in the woods. He went to sleep with his head face down on his folded arms. During the night a storm came up and evidently the rain flooded where his face was in his arms and caused him to drown. He was found the next morning. People were looking for him all night.
