"William (Blinn), 'son James Blyn & Margaret his wife,' b. 17 Oct. 1701 (BRC 28:12). 'Capt. William Blin, shop keeper of Boston [died] at Roxbury' 8 Aug. 1738 (Boston News Letter, Index of Obituaries, Vol. 2). … On 2 Oct. 1736 William Blin 'of Boston … Merchant" sold 1½ acres in Wethersfield to his uncle William Blin 'of Wethersfield … yeoman,' and as 'Capt. William Blin' acknowledged it at Wethersfield on the same day (Wethersfield Deeds, 6:247). He died intestate and administration on his estate was given to his widow Elizabeth Blin of Boston 16 Aug. 1738, who approved the inventory 2 March 1743 as Elizabeth Allen (Suffolk Co. Probate, 34:52; 37:56, File 7195). The accounting noted items for support of herself and 'six children, the youngest but three years old at the deceased's death' (ibid., 37:92). The statement is confusing; did Nathaniel d. in infancy, and if so, was there another unrecorded older child?"
