William appears to have a short-lived first marriage to an Elizabeth (although not in Rehoboth Vital Records). She dies within two weeks of giving birth to a daughter. Rehoboth vital records do have her death: Volume I, p. 180: Elizabeth, wife of William, Jan.26, 1709-10. William and Elizabeth baptizing dau Elizabeth (I, 134; p. 534 Vital Records of Rehoboth) born on Jan 12, 1709/10. Death of Elizabeth, wife of William Jan 26, 1710. From New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, Volume 3, p. 1181: (III) William (3), son of William (2) Blanding, was born May 2, 1676. He married (first) October 16, 1708, Elizabeth Perry, and (second) Mehitabel _______. One child, Elizabeth, b. January 12, 1709-10, came to the first marriage, and the following children to the second marriage: William, of whom further; Esther, September 20, 1714; Mehitabel, December 11, 1717; Bethia, October 26, 1719; Sibell, September 10, 1721; Rachel, September 3, 1723. The first Mrs. Blanding died January 27, 1709-10. Mr. Blanding was a member of the First Congregational Church in Rehoboth, in 1711. References
