"Wm. Black & His Descendants" 75. WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON BLACK was born in Champaign County, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1840. He was but a few years old when his parents moved to Wapello County, Iowa. After the death of his parents he returned to Ohio, where he was better known by the name of "Hen Black." During the Civil War he enlisted in the Union Army, being a private in Company I, of the 96th Regiment of Ohio Volunteer Infantry until the end of the war. He married Barbara Ella Frazee of Champaign County, April 9, 1867. They lived in Champaign County but a few years after their marriage, and moved to Bates County, Missouri, where they spent the rest of their lives on a farm near Rich Hill. He died on March 28, 1901. His wife was born Nov. 6, 1848 and died Jan. 17, 1909. Both are buried at Rich Hill, Bates County, Missouri.
