The body of William Bixler, former man of this community, arrived this morning from his late home at Bloomington, and was taken to the Scherer morgue, and later to the home of a sister, Mrs. John D. Myers, of North Fourth street. Word of the death was received last evening, together with word that the body was being sent here.
Mr. Bixler was married here to Miss Ella Hower, now deceased. There are no children. Another sister, Mrs. Kate Groh, lives at Vera Cruz; and there are two brothers, one, Harry, at Huntington; and another, John Bixler, living at Bluffton. A brother, Scott Bixler, died a few years ago.
Mr. Bixler was about sixty-five years of age. Death was due to tubercular trouble with which he had been afflicted for a number of years. For the past five and a half months, he had been very seriously ill. Death occurred yesterday morning at four o'clock.
