[edit] June 4, 1829 - WhitehallThe King has been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Sir William Draper Best, Knt. Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Wynford, of Wynford Eagle, in the county of Dorset.

William Draper Best, 1st Baron Wynford, PC (13 December 1767 – 3 March 1845), was a British politician and judge. He served as Chief Justice of the Common Pleas from 1824 to 1829.
