William Askew and family of Oswego are about to retrun to their old home on the Askew farm.


       Appendicitis

William Askew of East Tenth street was taken to the hospital Saturday suffering from appendicitis. He was operated upon by Dr. Mansfield and is doing as well as can be expected.

                                              OBITUARY

William T. Askew, 75, prominent east side resident died at his home, 114 East tenth street Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock following a lingering illness. Mr. Askew was born in Oswego where he had always lived.

He was a stationary engineer and had been employed in several of the local plants. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Maccabees.

Surviving are four sons:Clinton, Neil and William Askew of Oswego and Joel Askew of Fulton and three daughters: Mrs. C. D. Kenyon, Mrs. William J. Cavanaugh and Mrs. George Lamb, Oswego.

Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

                                      WILLIAM T. ASKEW

The Rev. Charles O. Harding pastor of the First Baptist church officiated at the funeral of William T. Askew, held at the family home, 114 East Tenths street, at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Internment was made in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery. The bearers were William Cavanaugh, Harry and James Donovan, Fred Hollenbeck, Dennis O'Neil and Fred Hinman.
