There seems to be some discrepancies about this Wiley Henson's life and death.

Both stories that I've read have Wiley living in Gilmer County, Georgia, and that he married Pearl Ina Harkins(b. 1813 S.C.).

One family legend says Wiley, while living in Gilmer County, worked at the mines in Copperhill, TN. He would work at the mines for months at a time, and boarded there in the town of Copperhill. Then return home to his family in Gilmer County, GA. He disappeared when he left to go back to the mines to collect his pay. After a while, some boys were sent to Copperhill to look for him. And were told he had died of pneumonia and had been buried for a couple of months. His grave was never found there, and some speculate he abandoned his family.

Wiley Henson's second marriage is never mentioned in the previous story. One family story has Wiley marrying a second time to a Susannah Wise on Feb. 12, 1837 in Haywood Co., N.C.. I wonder if this fits in with the previous story. It's possible, they're both true.
