1854: Built and commanded the skow Weskeag

1856: Built and commanded the schooner Cherokee

1865/66: Built and commanded the barque Chimborazo, named after a mountain in South America. Capt. Newhall remained in command of the Chimborazo until 8 October 1868, when she was wrecked (blown ashore) near Tobasco, Mexico. After the wreck of the Chimborazo Wilbert moved his family to Quebec, Canada.

1874: Postmaster for Hunterstown, Maskinongé, Quebec, Canada (per "The Canadian Almanac for the year 1874")
