1854: Built and commanded the skow Weskeag 1856: Built and commanded the schooner Cherokee 1865/66: Built and commanded the barque Chimborazo, named after a mountain in South America. Capt. Newhall remained in command of the Chimborazo until 8 October 1868, when she was wrecked (blown ashore) near Tobasco, Mexico.
