Wiegert Siebenga, son of John and Wilhemina Siebenga, was born on November 1, 1889, at Aldekerk, the Netherlands. In 1910 he came to America to Marengo, Illinois. A few years later the Siebengas came to the Ackley, Iowa, vicinity. He was married on February 20, 1929, to Miss Johanna Hulzebos at Austinville. The family farmed at Austinville until moving to Parkersburg 26 years ago. Mr. Siebenga was engaged in construction work here until retiring. He was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church. Mr. Siebenga passed away at his home on Wednesday evening at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 21 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Surviving are his wife; 1 son, John of Austinville; 1 daughter, Mary, Mrs. John A. Johnson of Cedar Falls; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Joe and Bill, both of Parkersburg; and 1 sister, Mrs. John Kuperus of Pease, Minnesota. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Parkersburg Christian reformed Church with Rev. K. Tebben officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery. (Parkersburg Eclipse 3/1/1967)
