Johanna Siebenga of Parkersburg, IA, was born the daughter of George and Anna Hulzebus on June 11, 1902, in the Netherlands. As a young girl she came to the U.S. with her parents and they lived the Austinville and Parkersburg areas. On March 20, 1929, Johanna was united in marriage to Wiegert Siebenga. They lived near Austinville and later move to Parkersburg, IA. Wiegert died on February 14, 1966. Later on Johanna married Joe Siebenga June 11, 1974, and Joe died July 5, 1977. Johanna was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Parkersburg. She died early Friday, February 8, 1985, in Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, IA, after reaching the age of 82 years, 7 months and 28 days. Johanna is survived by her 2 step-sons, John Siebenga of Austinville and Joseph Siebenga of Parkersburg; 1 step-daughter, Mary, Mrs. John Johnson of Mankato, MN; 11 step grandchildren; 21 step great grandchildren; and 2 step great great grandchildren; and 5 sisters, Rena DeVries of New Hartford, Devinne De Vries of Aplington, Elizabeth Ridder of Aplington, Martha Nevenhoven of Austinville and Gertrude Hovenga of Dumont. She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents, and 1 sister, Effie. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 11,, 1985, in the Christian reformed church in Parkersburg with Rev. Harry Vanderaa officiating. Janet Johnson was the organist and Marcia Allspach sang "I Hear in the Air" with the congregation singing "Just As I am". Casket-bearers were Troy Wade, Fritz Schneider, Marvin DeVries, Henry Duhn, Kenneth Nevenhoven, and Tako Ubben. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, IA. References
