According to his obituary, Wesley was the son of one of the very first settlers in Iowa. “Mr. Snook passed through the pioneering in this community and aided in transforming the prairie wilderness into its present highly cultivated state. He was born in Jasper County in 1842 and moved to Victor, Powesheik County, Iowa in 1845. In 1880 Census, he and his wife are living in Warren Twp., Powesheik Co., IA with his brother John and John’s daughter Sarah, age 14.
