About the farm: 100 acres tobacco, corn, small grain cows, hogs, chickens, some sheep used mules, then later used tractors Wentworth bought 1st house from Mrs. R.S. Twiss and it was known as "Raise a pint." Robert Crane built a newer house of log and remodeled it by weatherboarding and then added shingles. Moved about 1906.

  1. Wentworth Bagley Crane, Jr. says that his father lost those fingers when he tried to remove a dynamite cap that fell on a hot stove. The cap exploded and took off the fingers, leaving WB missing the same to fingers on the same hand as his father Robert Eddy, who lost his fingers in a corn shredder. Both of these accidents occurred before WB Jr. was born.
