    In Alfred, N. Y., Aug. 1st, 1867, Mr. Weeden Witter, in the 79th year of his age. He was a worthy member of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Hartsville. Bro. Witter came into Alfred at an early day, and remained in the immediate vicinity the remainder of his life. He was a devoted and faithful Christian, and honorably discharged his duty as a member of the church. His funeral was attended on Sabbath, Aug. 3d, at Hartsville, in the presence, it was said, of one of the largest, if not the largest, assemblies ever gathered in the town, for any purpose whatsoever.
