A biography of Wayne A. Seaver is in the book "The North Country" by Harry F. Landon, on page 665. It reads: "Wayne A. Seaver -- An executive secretary of the Agricultural Insurance Company, Mr. Seaver is a well known figure in the business life of Watertown. He was born at Brownville, Jefferson County, Jan. 19, 1891, the son of Richard F. and Clara J. (McOmber) Seaver. "Richard F. Seaver and his wife were natives of Jefferson County, and are both now deceased. He was employed in the paper mills throughout his life, which was spent in this section of the state. Mr. Seaver was a Republican and held membership in Trinity Episcopal Church. There were seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Seaver, of whom Wayne A., the subject of this sketch, was the sixth in order of birth. "Wayne A. Seaver attended the public schools of Watertown. He has spent his entire business career in the interests of the Agricultural Insurance Company in Watertown. He began as an office boy and after years of steady and rapid advancement he became special agent in 1919 for the state of Ohio with headquarters in Columbus. In January, 1925, he was appointed executive special agent at the home office, and the following year became agency secretary. It was in May, 1928, that he accepted his present position as executive secretary of the company. "Mr. Seaver is a Republican in politics. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and is affiliated with Watertown Lodge No. 49, F. & A.M., Watertown Chapter No. 59, R. A. M., Watertown Commandery No. 11, K.T., Central City Consistory, 32nd degree, and Media Temple. He also belongs to Black River Valley Club and Jefferson Country Golf Club." MILITARY RECORDS: Wayne Arthur Seaver registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. He was age 26, born 19 January 1891 in Brownsville, New York, was single, a Caucasian, and a native born US citizen. He resided at 521 Hamlin Street in Watertown. He was employed as an examiner and fire licenser by Agricultural Insurance Company with offices at Washington Street in Watertown. He had no dependents and had no previous military service. He was medium height, medium build, with blue eyes, black hair and no disabilities (World War I Draft Registration Card, Draft Board #1,753,742, image accessed at www.ancestry.com web site). CENSUS: In the 1930 US Census, Wayne Seaver (head, male, white, age 34?, single, born NY, parents born NY, an executive, works in fire insurance, owns home), his sister Elizabeth M. Seaver (female, white, age 46, single, born NY, parents born NY), sister Clara B. Seaver (female, white, age 44, single, born NY, parents born NY, a bookkeeper, works in grocery store) and his sister Anna Seaver (female, white, age 42, single, born NY, parents born NY, a bookkeeper, works in an executive power office) resided at 173 Ward (?)
