Obituary Wash. T. Edwards Jamesport Gazette (undated clipping) Funeral Was Held Friday in James M. E. Church Washington T. Edwards, son of F. I. and S. J. Edwards, was born near Woodlawn, Carroll county, Va., December 29, 1873, and departed this life January 25, 1933, being 59 years old. He was married to Annie Edwards of Caldwell county, Mo., on June 10, 1896. To this union ten children were born, seven sons and three daughters. One son, Bruce and one daughter Hazel, have preceded him to the better land. The surviving children are: D. C. Edwards, Olney Texas; Arthur Edwards, Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Rose Young, Sedalia Mo., Miss Ruby Edwards, Paris, Mo.; Roy E. Floyd and Jonathon, Jamesport and Clyde of the home. He obeyed the gospel of Christ at the early age of sixteen years in the state of Virginia and has held membership in different localities since that time. When he was eighteen years of age he came to Missouri and lived near Hamilton. He later moved to Kansas with his family and finally moved to a farm near Jamesport where he resided at the time of his death. The deceased leaves to mourn his departure, his beloved and faithful Christian companion who is confined to her sick bed, eight children, his mother, five brothers and two sisters, besides a host of friends who will miss him in the land of the living. All of his children were present at the funeral. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the M. E. church in Jamesport, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Yount, and burial was in the A. F. and A. M. cemetery. The pallbearers were old neighbors of Mr. Edwards--Joe Jackson, Andy Gay, Ampie Brown, Dan Weidemann, Carl Critten and Ira Harris. References
