Zemke, 91, Barron, Wis., died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Barron Medical Center- Extended Care. He was born March 5, 1913, in the Town of Turtle Lake, Barron County, the son of Hermann and Alma (Sass) Zemke. He farmed in Turtle Lake Township for 34 years.

He married June Wold on Dec. 25, 1937, at Chetek. They moved to Barron in 1978.

He served on the Turtle Lake Town Board, Barron County Fair Board and was a trustee at Silver Creek Lutheran Church of Clayton and Salem Lutheran Church, Barron. He had a life-long love of Holstein cattle. He enjoyed making "Real Seal" signs for the annual Holstein breakfasts.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, JoAnn Birkholz of Rice Lake, Judith Pahlow of White Bear Township, Minn., and Donna (David) Feidt of Onalaska; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold of St. Paul, Minn.; and a sister, Edie Raffesburger of Carlsbad, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Ewald, Bert, Helmuth and Raymond; a sister, Tina Kittleson; a granddaughter, Angela Birkholz; and a son-in-law, Elmer Birkholz.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, from Salem Lutheran Church, Barron, Rev. Ronald Mueller officiating, with burial at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.    Family links:   Spouse:   June A.
