Wallace Bruce "Bud" Shoffner, 81 year-old farmer of Route 6, died suddenly at his home this morning at 7 o'clock.

A native of Alamance County, he was married to Mrs Mary Lee Coble Shoffner, who survives, and was the son of the late Michael D Shoffner and Mrs Mattie E Wharton Shoffner, He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church.

Surviving, in addition to the wife, are three sisters, Mrs Ella Shoffner of Alamance, Mrs Lillie Euliss, also of Alamance, Mrs Mamie Sharpe of Graham; one brother, Jesse G Shoffner of Burlington, a large number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mr Shoffner will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at St Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev Paul G Kinney, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body was removed to the home this afternoon at 5 o'clock.
