W. L. Greene Laid To Rest - He Had Lived In Dodge County Since 1863
Wallace LaMont Greene, son of William and Ellen Fidelia West Greene was born Jun 1, 1855, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and died at Dodge Center Dec. 28, 1921. He was the second of 8 children, 5 of whom are still living, 2 brothers, Clarence of Salt Lake City, Utah, Fred of New Auburn, Wisconsin; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Addie Beckwar of Hingham, Montana; Mrs. Ella Bieloh of Wazeka, Wisconsin; and Mrs. Myrtie Loofboro of Milton, Wisconsin.
In 1863 he moved with his parents to Wasioja, Minnesota, and has been a resident of Dodge County since that time. He was united in marriage to Miss Addie Mills Oct. 10, 1874. To them were born 3 sons, Fred and Orph of Byron, and Mack of Lansing, Michigan. In 1878 he experienced religion and joined the Dodge Center Seventh Day Baptist Church of which he has been a faithful member ever since.
After many months of intense suffering which he most patiently and cheerfully bore he passed 'from death into life' triumphant in a Savior's love and mercy.
He leaves to mourn his going, the wife, the sons and their families, 7 grandchildren, the brothers and sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Farewell services were conducted by his pastor H. C. Van Horn last Friday at the SDB church with burial at Riverside.
