    Balthasar und Walburga Greulich, née Abberger
    Am 9ten November 1891 starb Balthasar Greulich in dem hohen Alter von 81 Jahren, weniger 2 Tage.  Damals erschienen die „Gedenkblätter“ noch nicht, und so möge eine kurze Biograghie, jetzt, da ihm seine treue Lebensgefährtin in dem Tod nachgefolgt ist, Platz finden.
    Balthasar Greulich war am  11. Februar 1810 in Tauberbischofsheim, Großherzogthum Baden, geboren.  Er erlernte das Schlächtergewerbe und wanderte im Jahr 1834 nach den Ver. Staaten aus.  Er ließ sich in New York nieder und schloß im folgenden Jahr den Bund fürs Leben mit Fräulein Walburga Abberger.  Fünf Jahre später siedelte das Paar nach Pittsburg, Pa., über und blieb daselbst bis 1846.  In diesem Jahr kam die Familie nach Dayton, gründete ihren Herd in einem Haus an Süd Broadway, das beiden Eheleuten bis zum Tode die Wohnung blieb.
    Frau Walburga Greulich, geborene Abberger, welche am 2ten Juli ihrem Gatten in’s Grab nachfolgte, war am 16ten Februar 1816 im Oberamt Horb, im Württembergischen Schwarzwald, geboren. Als 18-jähriges Mädchen kam sie bereits im Jahr 1834 mit ihren Eltern in dieses Land.  Im Jahr 1885 hatte das Ehepaar Greulich das Glück, die Goldene Hochzeit feiern zu können.  Aus der glücklichen Ehe gingen 12 Kinder hervor, von denen 4 der Mutter im Tod vorangingen, während die folgenden acht sie überleben: Mrs. Peter Sacksteder, Mrs. Henry Hollencamp, Joseph Greulich in Appleton, Wis., Andreas, Constantin, Reinhold, Leo J. Greulich in New York, und Albert Greulich.
    Am Donnerstag, den 5ten Juli, wurde die irdische Hülle der Verstorbenen zur Seite ihres vorangegangenen Gatten auf dem Calvarien Friedhof zur Ruhe gelegt.  Ehre dem Andenken des biederen deutschen Paares!
