Vivian Irene Kiplinger, 87 of Ashland passed away Monday morning, February 18, 2013 in the Hospice House.
She was born on July 19, 1925 in Sullivan to the late Charles and Beryl (nee Miller) Crumrine.
Vivian has lived in Ashland County all of her life. She graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1943.
She married the love of her life, Gerald F. Kiplinger on November 28, 1947.
Vivian was a homemaker throughout her life, taking care of her children and family. She also assisted her husband with their family's business, Kiplinger Door Company. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Leibfarth Jewelry in downtown Ashland.
She was a devoted member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for more than ten years. Vivian enjoyed embroidery, crafts, oil painting, word puzzles, and playing the piano in her younger years.
Vivian will be remembered fondly as being a supportive wife and a wonderful loving mother to her children.
She leaves behind two daughters, Linda Kiplinger of Columbus and Karen (Don) Hostler of Westerville; three sons, Jerry Kiplinger of Ashland, Dave Kiplinger of Ashland, and Kevin (Angelin) Kiplinger of Fairfield Township; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Kelsey Hostler of Westerville; two step-grandsons, Juan Carlos and Christian Vargas of Fairfield Township; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Crumrine of Ashland; a special cousin, Bertina Schwartz; a special friend and caregiver, Lee Gregory of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years of marriage, Gerald F. Kiplinger who passed away on March 7, 2011; and three brothers, Wilbur, Walter, and George Crumrine.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with Reverend James Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
